The LOUIS XIII magnum was the largest crystal decanter for Cognac in the world when first created in 1997 and each magnum contains a blend of up to 1,200 distinct eaux-de-vie, the youngest of which is at least 40 years old. They are distilled from grapes grown in the chalky soil of Grande Champagne, one of the 6 districts of the region of Cognac, producing some of the most aromatic eaux-de-vie, and then matured slowly inside age-old oak casks.

The drops that rise up the glass and then fall back slowly are a sure sign of the supreme opulence in this nectar. Louis XIII develops intense aromas which persist more than one hour on the palate. The myriad of reflections and colors dancing in the light ranges from assertive and flamboyant golden hues to marvelous reflections of mahogany, all the way up to fiery red.
